I was tasked with putting together a new snail-mail campaign for work. The campaign would be mailed to a certain range of people within the Portland or Lake Oswego areas based on who was closest to each office location. I did a couple for one office, one for our other location, and another
I was provided a Photoshop mockup of what they wanted the site to look like. From there I sliced everything up and hand-coded the site. The client wanted customizable text and rotating images for the banner so I put together a jQuery slide show that'd get it's settings from an XML file.
This project was pretty straight forward. There were a number of scenes that needed a badge tracked onto a laptop. As usual, there were no tracking markers, so there was a lot of hand tracking. The one thing I did enjoy about this project was getting the badge to blend with the original scene. There's a lot of subtle shading, and in some instances light reflections that occur.
I really enjoyed working on this project, mainly because I did most of it from scratch. Well, at least this shot. Originally this was going to just be a still shot at the end of a commercial, but after I finished the scene, Ensure liked it so much that they wanted it to be an animated shot.
For this project I had to duplicate the style of a previous animation that had already been completed. I was given most of the visual elements, but some had to be created. Besides that, the whole thing had to be blocked out and animated to match the VO (voice over) that was already recorded. The whole thing took about a couple days.
