First off, I apologize for the quality of the video. For some reason it's the only one I could find that truly shows the spirit of this show. And two, the genre is more Dramedy/Mystery. So for years I've either heard or read about how good this show is, and the cult following that it has. I've finally had the chance to sit down and watch all 3 seasons, and now I believe I too belong to the VM fan club. The show's about Veronica, a highschool student that works part-time for her dad who's a detective and former sheriff. Actually, I should say she's a full-time detective and part-time high school student. Each season tends to have one main mystery that's always being worked, but each show has its sub-plots as well. So you can watch a couple episodes without feeling like you need to watch the whole season just to get a pay off. But to be honest, I couldn't get enough of this show, I wanted to keep watching, sleep be damned. I don't know if the actors just ad libbed off each other, or if the writers are geniuses. For example, the relationship between Veronica and her father felt like a tenuous but very loving one. He's a man that would do absolutely anything for his daughter, he guards her but doesn't smother her, and they're always joking around. From his parenting, she's turned into a smart young woman that stands up for, and fights for her friends. She may not always make the right decision, but she's a teenager, and human. All the people that cross paths through the series feel like they've all known each other for years, like they've really grown up together. Now, those relationships mixed with some good comedy, drama, and mystery, make for a great TV viewing. If other television could take a page from its book, we may actually have some slightly more intelligent children walking around out there. But hey, who wouldn't rather watch the same thing year after year. With our "Americas" tv shows combined, we've got Crap-tain Planet! .. sorry, bit of a tangent there. Anyway, watch the show, smile, be happy. | ||
